We are a family farm engaged in regenerative agriculture.

Our mission

A healthy soil for healthy pastures that feed healthy animals for the health of our clients!

Our practices

We practice rapid-rotation pasturing. As a result, the herd is moved daily on to new grass. This allows the soil as well as the plants to recover during a period of rest over a number of weeks.

This practice also allows us frequent contact with our animals to assure their health and well-being.

Our herd

The herd is made up of 30 mother cows with their calves of the last two years. Our animals gain weight slowly and naturally. This means they live on the farm for one year more than the way a beef is conventionally raised, in order to attain slaughter weight.

During a season, there are about 75 animals on our land.

Our land

Our land has not been treated with herbicides, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers since 2000. We avoid plowing the soil in order not to damage its structure. In addition, we spread manure to increase the nutritional value of our pastures, to improve soil health and to insure a successful harvest of hay.

Our values

Environment

We align our farming techniques to work with, rather than control, the complexities of ecosystems.

Community

We believe in the importance of supporting local business and food production.

Health

Human health is intricately connected with environmental and animal health.

Quality

The taste and quality of our meat are important indicators for the success of what we are doing.

The Goettke Family

Appart from tremendous enthusiasm, we have trainings in veterinary medicine, butchering, agronomy and agri-business.

Although we grew up on the farm, we have had the opportunity to work with and manage animals on farms across the country from British Colombia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and of course, Quebec.

All the members of the family contribute to the running and success of our farm!
